Buying your first home can feel like trying to play a song you've never heard, with a band you just met. There are lenders, inspectors, contracts, deadlines, and a lot of money on the line. The good news: it's a project, and projects can be managed.
Here's how I walk buyers through it, step by step.
1. Pick your agent. Talk to at least two, and go with your gut. You'll be spending a lot of time together, so make sure it's someone you trust and actually like.
2. Get real about the numbers. Before we look at a single house, we'll talk honestly about what you can afford and what monthly payment lets you sleep at night.
3. Line up your lender. Getting pre-approved (or fully underwritten) tells sellers you're serious, and it tells you exactly where your ceiling is.
4. Tour homes. This is the fun part. I'll help you see past the staging and spot the things that matter: the roof, the foundation, the layout, and the neighborhood.
5. Make your offer. When you find the one, we'll write a strong, clean offer that fits the market, and I'll handle the back-and-forth.
6. Build your team. Inspectors, contractors, handymen: I'll connect you with people I trust, before closing and long after.
My job is to keep every part of the process moving and keep you in the loop, so you can focus on picturing yourself in your new place. Thinking about buying in the next year? Let's grab a coffee and map it out.
